Final Task : Editing

Editing

Editing, finally. After procrastinating filming for so long, i was glad to get started on editing. The editing process went pretty smoothly so im glad to have finished. What i first had originally intended was for me to get filming and editing done in one day. Me and my friend finished filming and after i was too tired to start editing. So the next day i came home from school and immediately started on editing. First thing i did was upload all of my footage that we took to my computer, from there, i uploaded everything to google photos then downloaded the footage from google photos into my phone. The reason i did this was because i edited using imovie. which is an editing software installed on my mobile device. Imovie is easier to use compared to pinnacle studios, the editing software they offer at my school. So thats why i choose to use imovie. I have done my last 2 projects on imovie and they have come out pretty good if i can say so for myself. I will go into detail about editing in my next blog but for now i just want to let you know about the software i used about uploading and downloading such and such. Im glad i finished everything though because the day that we filmed i was stressing over the fact that i wasn’t going to finish but the relief of my finishing was helpful for my mental health. In all honesty, i don’t  know where to upload my finished video and CCR but ill eventually ask my aice media teacher and figure it out. But yeah to wrap this all up, im really glad i finished this project and the editing aoftware in my school sucks, Ill talk to you more in the next blog.  Lucas Out

Final Task : Filming Finally Done

Filming

I finally got my filming done, after everybody cancelled on me last minute, i managed to get it done. Filming was a not so fun process due to the fact that everybody was cancelling on me and i was stressed that i was not going to be able to finish. Eventually i got one of my friends who wasn’t on the part of the participants to help me out because everybody cancelled on me. But i managed to do it. My friend came over to my house and we filmed all of our necessary scenes. The hardest part was to get all the scenes done exactly how i had it in my head. I showed my friend the script and told him how i want everything and in the end i think it came out pretty good. My friend actually helped me out so much with a lot of the scenes that i should give him credit for director lol. He gave me ideas and we basically shared the whole experience of the movie. After me reviewing the footage, we didn’t end up recording 2 minutes worth of useable footage. we ended up only using about 1:30 minutes of useable footage that will be featured in the film. The other time we have will be used for titles. I didn’t want to ruin the movie with titles on the actual scenes so i sacrificed some time for titles instead of making a longer scene. Over all, filming was a good process which im happy to have finished finally. I uploaded a photo of me during the actual filming progress. One of the things that i was upset about was the fact that the camera given to me by the school did not work. I was disappointed about this but im glad to have a camera at home. But if i didnt have any other camera, that wouldve been my last weekend to film and wouldnt have had a camera to film on so im disappointed at the schools cheap technology.

Final Task : Filming Part 3

Filming

As I said in my previous blogs, I'm filming this weekend. I've confirmed with my friend that we are filming. Today, I actually checked out a camera and my tripod. So we secured the location so we are going to film there on Sunday. I might need additional help but I think if i really push myself, i can film and edit so i can have it ready by Tuesday for the peer review. This last weekend was not as efficient as i'd like it to be so this weekend i want it to be as efficient as possible. I want to film and edit by next week so it can be ready. Filming should be a good process but i want to film. I need to film in order to get the grade for this class. In all honesty, I've been a little irresponsible due to the fact that we had 2 other weekends and I still have not started filming. These past 2 weekends have been pretty busy so what i need to do is just focus and film this weekend. No excuses for me this weekend. Even though i did some stuff over the weekend, i need to get on my grind this weekend. Some family is over so its been a little hard to film but this weekend, no excuses. This is the final part of my grade so i need to get on my grind. 

Final Task : Filming Part 2

Filming

So I didn't get the chance to film this weekend. Mainly the reason is because I didn't finish my storyboard, so i couldn't check out a camera. I had everything ready, my participants, locations secured, safety, everything, but i didn't have the camera and the tripod. We could've recorded some scenes from our phones but I don't want to use 2 different camera which the quality will look pretty bad. So i decided to postpone filming until next weekend which by then, i will have the camera and the tripod. This weekend what i did was talk to my participants about filming and whats expected from them and everybody seems on board to film next weekend February 29th. So as i didn't get to film this weekend, I will film and edit by next weekend which will help me out. I'm glad to be working with my friends who are understanding to my situation. The fact that I couldn't secure the camera but its all good because we will film next weekend. Next weekend will be my most productive weekend yet. I will film, edit, get props, and pretty much do everything for this movie. I've asked some of my peers about their filming process and I'm not too far behind which is good because i don't wanna be left too far behind compared to the rest of my peers. In conclusion, I didn't get to film this weekend, i did a bit of planning and editing for next weekend but, next weekend for sure im going to start filming. Filming this will be a good experience for me as a film maker and a creative writer so I'm super excited to start.

Final Task : Storyboard

Storyboard

While this is a bit late, its the only way for me to check out a camera. I finally finished my story board. I made my storyboard a bit short due to the fact that my titles are gonna have its own separate time in the movie so I didn't bother writing them in. That'll go in the editing blogs when I do my titles during the editing process. This storyboard has more or less what my beginning scene is going to consist of. This is good because when I begin filming, I can use my storyboard as a reference so i can show my participants what my vision of this movie is which is a big part of my actual movie, making it look like how i wanted it to. So yeah, below you will see my storyboard embedded into this blog so you can see my storyboard. I'm not the greatest artist so my drawings are too good but, i tried my hardest when it comes to my art and added as much details. So yeah here it is.
